MODELING OF DYNAMIC PROCESSES IN ELECTROMAGNETIC RELAYS
(pp. 55-61)

Abstract. A numerical modelingprogram has been developed for the transient characteristic ofcurrent in an electromagnetic relay during switching operations. Since the air gap magnitude and consequently, the inductance of the electrical circuit change as the relay armature moves, a feedback communication linking the air gap magnitude to the circuit inductance has been incorporated into the program's algorithm. The developed numerical modeling program enables the investigation of the dynamic characteristics of electromagnetic relays, taking into account the parameters of the main relay components and the gap medium.
