Abstract. The article considers the development and testing of multifunctional radiation sensors based on metal-insulator-semiconductor structures. Modern radiation monitoring technologies, advantages of using MIS structures, as well as their potential for increasing the sensitivity and reliability of sensors are analyzed. The theoretical principles of operation, manufacturing and testing methods are described. Key parameters affecting their performance characteristics are identified. Prospects for using these sensors in medicine, industry and security are considered.
Keywords: multifunctional sensors, radiation, metal‒dielectric‒semiconductor, ionizing radiation detectors, radiation-sensitive structures, semiconductor sensors, nanomaterials, sensitivity and selectivity, dosimetry, radiation safety.
