KEY FEATURES OF ACOUSTIC EMISSION PARAMETERS IN ADDITIVELY MANUFACTURED WELDED STRUCTURES
(pp. 4-9)

Abstract. This paper presents analysis results for acoustic emission (AE) parameters obtained during inspection of an additively manufactured component produced via selective laser sintering and direct laser deposition, which served as the test object. The study established that values for key AE parameters (signal amplitude, average energy, and total ring-down count) from additively manufactured components differ significantly from those of parts made using traditional technologies. This discrepancy is attributed to microstructural particularities: dislocation dynamics, porosity, and residual stresses. Interpretation reliability of AE data was confirmed by correlation with strain-gauge measurements and displacement monitoring of the test object’s structural elements. The absence of scientifically validated indicators and criteria for assessing the technical condition of additively manufactured parts based on AE results underscores the relevance of this research, particularly given the rapid adoption of additive technologies in critical sectors such as energy, transportation, and logistics.
