Abstract. The paper addresses the problem of non-destructive testing of internal hard to reach cavities in large sized industrial objects. To solve this problem, a panoramic mirror lens optical video system was developed and manufactured. An experimental evaluation of its characteristics was carried out using test objects. Examples of images recorded with the help of this system are provided. A procedure for correcting their geometric distortions has been developed. Spatial dependencies of the resolution capability have been established. Limitations on the sizes of detectable defects depending on the diameter of the inspected object have been determined.
Keywords: optical non‑destructive testing, panoramic images, endoscopy, digital image processing, distortion correction.
