From 1970 to 1976 – director of RII Introscopy, since 1976 - CEO of MSIA “SPECTRUM”.

In 1986 he was elected as a corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Since 2006 he is RAS Academician (department of power engineering, engineering, mechanics and control processes).
From 1986 to 1988 he was the first secretary of the Leninskiy district committee of CPSU in Moscow.

In 1991 he became a Chairman of the International Committee for Standardization, Non-destructive Testing and Technical Diagnostics. Vice-president of the International NDT Academy. Member of the European Academy. The Chief Editor of journals: “Kontrol’. Diagnostika” (Testing. Diagnostics) and “Territory of NDT”. Member of the editorial board of the journals “Defectoscopy”, “Factory laboratory”, “Devices”, “Material Diagnostics”. Chairman of the editorial board of the journal “Repair. Renovation. Modernization”.

Scientific effort:
Mr. Vladimir V. Klyuev is a noted scientist in NDT and TD field; he is engaged in theoretical and experimental research work of the secondary magnetic stray fields. He headed the development of devices for in-line inspection of gas pipelines, the first Russian X-ray microtomographs, crawlers for welded joints control; he managed the research in acoustic tomography, eddy current vibrometry, thermovision and electromagnetic modulation defectoscopy.
He is the author of over 450 scientific papers in TD field.
